Improving and aligning the global financial processes and internal controls.

Due to significant financial and organizational growth over recent years, processes and reporting have become increasingly complex, hence the need for a global structure and alignment of the internal financial control environment and procedures. The role as Group Controller is newly created to support the global finance organization in improving and standardizing the global financial processes.

Monjasa believes that alignment within the different finance departments is best achieved through a good management culture, adequate training and knowledge sharing in combination with a good open dialogue. As Group Controller, you will utilize your strong audit background in an organization with a great focus on supporting the global finance organization in improving financial processes and internal controls rather than on pointing out weaknesses. You will work closely together with colleagues in Group Finance and in local finance organizations to find well balanced and pragmatic ways to ensure proper solutions to financial compliance matters that matches the size and organization of Monjasa.

Overall, you will help build further on the already existing internal financial control environment and financial process descriptions and where things are not aligned, you will guide the financial organization in the direction of identified best practice. You will be responsible for a broad range of controlling related matters which includes:

  • Identifying best practice and ensuring alignment of procedures across regions and business activities.
  • Supporting the work towards implementing standardized global financial processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with Danish accounting requirements and IFRS.
  • Monitoring and developing proper internal controls and segregation of duties.
  • Further development and maintenance of the group’s accounting policies.
  • Responsible for content of the Finance knowledge sharing platform (SharePoint)
  • Updating existing internal process descriptions, SOP’s, and policies.
  • Analyzing and describing not yet documented internal procedures and policies.

You will be working closely with regional Finance Directors/Managers and Controllers to ensure understanding and alignment of the global standard structure and approach as well as ensuring that regional/local policies and framework are aligned across the Group. To achieve success in the role, you are going to build long-term trusted relationships with relevant stakeholders and conduct relevant workshops globally.

Besides the financial alignment activities, you will also occasionally take part in the teams’ monthly closing activities and in the preparation of annual reports.

You will work out of Monjasa’s main office in Fredericia and to accommodate a close relationship with stakeholders, you should expect 20-35 travel days a year.

Analytical and proactive Auditor with strong communication skills.

As the ideal candidate, you have a background as an auditor, in a role where you have worked with international clients. You have a solid understanding and experience within business process audits and documentation.
