Management of derivatives trading and enhancement of hedging strategies
Monjasa seeks to strengthen their derivatives trading operations and is therefore on the lookout for a new member of their derivatives trading team based in Copenhagen and Panama City. As the new Derivatives Trader, you will be responsible for executing and managing derivative trades, guiding risk management initiatives, working collaboratively with Monjasa’s commercial team to enhance hedging strategies, and overseeing administrative tasks related to their trading activities.
You will be responsible for overseeing derivative trades for the Northwest Europe and Mediterranean regions, executing commodity swaps and futures, and managing oil price risk. Your areas of focus will thus be:
- Basic Market Making providing a liquid derivatives fuel-oil market for physical traders.
- Planning and execution of hedging strategies with the aim to mitigate oil price risk exposure arising from the trading of physical oil products.
- Foster strong collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Risk management.
- Strong knowledge as to swaps and futures.
You will be working closely with the derivative trading team to identify the risk of purchases and ensure Monjasa’s profitability. You will report to Michael Korsager Nielsen, Oil Derivatives Trader, and will be based at Monjasa’s Copenhagen office, but you will have great flexibility regarding your work location.
Analytical and independent Derivatives Trader with in-depth knowledge of commodity trading
You have a master’s degree or MBA in finance or economics and have several years of experience in a similar role with trading of derivatives, swaps, and futures. We are looking for a person with outstanding numerical and analytical skills, expertise in risk management, and excellent problem-solving skills. You are proficient in Microsoft Office – in particular Navision and Excel, have effective communication skills and are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
As a person, you are trustworthy, self-driven, calm, and have strong decision-making capabilities. The successful candidate will have a high level of integrity and professionalism and handles high-pressure situations effectively and methodically. Furthermore, you are detail-oriented and highly organized.
