Energy & Utilities is seen as a key strategic market for PA Consulting. These sectors will face significant investments, innovations and technology disruption in the coming years, with the need for green energy accelerated further by the Covid-19 pandemic, geo-political situation, emerging technologies and consumer demand. These challenges can be expertly addressed by PA’s unique combination of innovation & digital development capabilities, strategic consulting, implementation expertise, and human-centric purpose. Norway is a market of high value and PA are looking to further build and strengthen their market presence locally in the Energy&Utilities with the appointment of a new MC for the business. The successful candidate will be a up and coming brand in the Norwegian Energy or Utilities markets, with a reasonable network of decision makers in domestic and international client organizations.

The candidate will be proficient in the growth strategy and business transformation domain, with expertise spanning topics e.g. innovation, sustainability, circular economy, customer experience, supply chain resilience and will understand how digitalization can support the agenda for clients. The candidate will have a proof of selling and delivering profitable, mid/large and complex consulting engagements that are transformative and innovative, moving from strategic advisory into implementation of new digital business models. The candidate will be commercial, growth oriented and able to work collaboratively in a dynamic international consulting business, with an ambition on developing capabilities to be able to leverage the best of PA’s unique propositions in the Energy&Utilities market.

Role description Position: MC Role objective:

Support Partner and lead sales and operations activities for client organizations with a primary focus on the development and creation of new clients and grow existing key accounts
Ability to understand, navigate and succeed in competitive tendering and procurement processes
Support Partner on building and extend PA´s profile and reputation across Energy & Utilities and support the development and delivery of broader consulting opportunities that play to PA’s strengths, blending innovation, technology and consulting
Lead and develop fit-for-purpose project teams that bring a genuine differentiator to delivery and efficiency of a our most important programmes
Support lead Partner for E&U on further developing the go-to-market strategy and value proposition that will impact key target organizations

Main Operational tasks:

• Business Development and Assignment leadership
• Is capable of selling work and is entrepreneurial, creative and inspirational
• Expands sales opportunities through collaboration. – Able to generate sales with new and existing clients
• Assignment manager for key initiatives within the E&U in Norway – Able to lead large programmes and deliver excellent value for our clients

Leadership through example – Consulting Capability

• Able to develop new propositions, combining consulting, technology and innovation
• Shapes and leads assignments, enabling the consultant team to best deliver value to the client
• Identifies and accesses appropriate skills from the PA resource pool to deliver significant value to client organisations
• Manages assignments to optimise utilisation, profitability and learning potential
• Is seen to add value by the quality of advice and depth of expertise
• Gains client commitment to PA deliverables

Professional thought leadership

• Collaborates and supports on creating innovative and breakthrough market insights combining business transformation offerings with innovation, technology and technical understanding, which will lead to significant business opportunities with new and existing clients
• Is able to apply innovative ideas into complex client challenges
• Ambition to develop strong reputation in the market place through speaking on conference platforms, publishing in relevant media and being quoted in relation to notable client success

• Able to identify and nurture talent

Management and Leadership

• Engages in company-wide initiatives.
• Develops an internal network to meet personal and PA objectives
• Demonstrates discipline and adherence to company policy and procedure

Candidate experience

• Have completed a Master’s degree with good academic results
• Have 8+ years of relevant working experience as a management consultant or project manager within the energy sector; hydro, wind, solar, network or power supply
• A sound understanding of the issues currently facing the most senior influencers in the Energy&Utilities sector, with a particular focus on the business challenges
• Solid reputation in sector for delivering highly impactful and transformational results that enhance their clients ability to transform, innovate and thrive
• Ideally will have industry and consulting experience and will have a personal understanding and empathy for the challenges facing clients in the Energy&Utilities sector
